The Annual Hot Summer Nights Car Show Raises Funds for the Monroe Hospice

Visitors to the annual car show were able to admire a variety of classic vehicles dating from the 1930s through to the 1970s, and many were thrilled to see autos that reminded them of their childhood. Joe DuFord of Monroe was enthralled with the show and 73 year old Mr DuFord said the classic motors were much like the movie stars used to drive. Joe displayed a car in the Hot Summer Nights Car Show held in Monroe County Fairground, an auto he purchased online in 2002 from Vancouver.

Mr DuFort's stylish white classic car cost $2,500 when new and the prestigious motor accelerates from nought to sixty in fifteen seconds. Joe is the first to admit classic cars in car shows remind him of his childhood, however, this cannot be said for everyone. Twenty-one year-old Brando Benvenuto, of LaSalle Township exhibited his blue 1987 Camaro Iroc. Brando said he was raised in the mid nineties when the boxy autos were not regarded as cool. Brando was one of the youngest to show a car and he really appreciated viewing the older cars.

Brando enjoys visiting the classic car shows, in particular, the Hot Summer Nights Car Show. He purchased the Camaro when he was just sixteen and his father, another classic car enthusiast displayed their cars side by side. Brando's father enjoyed showing his Nassau blue '66 Corvette and he told everyone he was pleased he and his son enjoyed the same hobby.

Around three hundred cars are displayed at the show and all money raised goes to the Monroe Hospice. Other events throughout the day included raffles, free food and live entertainment by the well-known band Hoosier Daddy. Dave Perry, the shows chairman is proud of the bunch of guys who raise money for great causes.

Bradley Roby Gets Freedom After Pleading Guilty

After the charge Bradley Roby was facing was amended, he pleaded guilty and given a suspended sentence

Once the charge was amended, the former Ohio State corner decided to plead guilty but the suspended sentence means that he will not spend time in jail if he completes a court-mandated driver intervention program.

According to the Columbus Dispatch, Bradley pleaded guilty to the charge in a Franklin County court where the hearing for his OVI citation was being held. Bradley only pleaded guilty for being in physical control of an automobile while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. According to the charge sheet, Roby was found passed-out or asleep behind the wheel on the morning of 20th April, 2014.

The judge presiding over the case issued a suspended sentence under one condition that he must complete a 3-day driver intervention program. According to his attorney, Roby was supposed to begin the program shortly.

When the news broke out about his arrest, Roby and his agent took to the Internet in a bid to distance themselves from those malicious accusations. According to his agent, Roby was only cited and allowed to go home without any restrictions on the following day, and the NFL star player produced police documents  to confirm his agent's claim that his blood alcohol was ten times lower than the legal limit. However, court documents showed that the star player failed the standard sobriety test during the time of the arrest.

Previously, Roby had been arrested after an incident at a bar in Bloomington, Ind, but the charges were later dropped.

Former Ohio State Football Player Ray Small Jailed

The Ohio State Football fans are reeling as former player Ray Small is handed a four year sentence for dealing drugs.

Small wanted to become a professional state football player, but his amateur drug dealing left those dreams in tatters.

The Franklin County prosecutor felt that Ray Small, the former football player for Ohio State was involved in an amateur trafficking operation. However, Small was sentenced to four years in prison.

Joseph Gibson, the assistant prosecutor felt Small and a co-defendant were way out of their depth.

Eric Brehm, defense attorney said Ray Small; the former Ohio State Football player had made a series of poor decisions. Small informed the case investigators he hoped to raise over $10,000 by selling drugs, the cash would open a day-care center for children.

Police who searched Small's home on Ferris Road, North Lindon found an unloaded handgun in clothing and an unloaded rifle in his bedroom. Ray Small, the former Ohio State Football player was subsequently arrested.

Police also discovered 407 oxycodone pills, 403 alprazolam tablets and 20 grams of heroin. In February, Small pleaded guilty to drug trafficking.

Ray Small, former Ohio State Footballer may be eligible for early release if Sheeran and Meigs County Judge agree.

David Taylor: Professional Snooker Player

David Taylor snooker player, although considered to be one of the top-class snooker players in the game, never really rose to the level of excellence he was considered to be capable of reaching. Born in July of 1943, he was able to earn wins in the English Amateur Championships as well as the World Amateur Championships. While he was highly skilled and extremely adept at the game, David Taylor snooker player did not seem to be able to rise as high in the snooker pool ranks as was expected by either himself or his followers. Mr. Taylor was referred to by fans and friends as the "Silver Fox" for the fact that his hair turned very white at a very young age.

Mr. Taylor did manage to make it to three different major finals but was unable to succeed at any of them. He lost the United Kingdom Championship to Doug Mountjoy with a final score of 9-15; Steve Davis beat him in 1981 with a score of 6-9 for the Yamaha Organs Trophy, and finally he took a dive at the Jameson International against Tony Knowles with another score of 6-9 in 1982. Mr. Taylor made a surprise return in a match against Paul Wilkes at the age of 66; he lost the match with a final score of 5-1.  David Taylor snooker player retired for the final time shortly thereafter that final game against Mr. Wilkes. The tournament against Mr. Wilkes was considered the only "ranking event final" he took participation in; future ranking event finals did not apply to this particular event and would only apply to future opportunities to compete for final positions that would be afforded Mr. Taylor. He did subsequently beat the World Champion Steve Davis, with a score of 5-3. Because of the fact he had been defeated as a quarter-finalist on 3 individual occasions, his most skilled and renowned performance was that particular match in 1980. At that point he did lose to opponent Cliff Thorburn, with a painful score of 7-16. He also is able to claim wins against 6 time world champion Ray Reardon, with a quarter-final score of 13-11.

As far as the life of David Taylor Snooker player outside of the game, even less is known about that than about his snooker pool career. He did claim a small bit of fame by attending an exhibition match and making three consecutive clearances, as well as showing mind-blowing practices matches alone that could not be competed with in any manner, even by the best competitive snooker player active at that time.

By the time David Taylor allowed his snooker playing adventures and lifestyles to wind down, he took over all management and production in a hotel know for winning awards, and has played an active part in the British Broadcasting Company's "Big Break", a game show focusing on snooker.

At the current time, Mr. David Taylor Snooker Player resides in Cheshire near Dunham in England. He will be 71 years of age this year.
