We are beyond thrilled about the potential impact that this gifted player will have on the team's performance in the forthcoming season. Let's dive into the details of this exciting development in college basketball.

Big news for Buckeye Nation! The Ohio State women’s basketball team has just landed a major recruit in the form of four-star player Ava Watson. This young lady is a force to be reckoned with on the court, and I have no doubt she’ll make a significant impact on the team’s performance in the upcoming season.

Ava Watson is a 5-foot-7 guard out of Buford High School in Buford, Georgia. ESPN ranked her 47th in the 2024 class, giving Ohio State a second straight commit from the list, with Ella Hobbs coming ranked No. 83. Watson is a premier shooting guard who won’t only attack the rim but hit from deep with great accuracy. She uses ball handling to break through defenders and sends in a more unconventional shot, going with one hand on mid-range shots.

With her commitment to Ohio State, we’ve secured a major win for our program. I’m excited to see what she’ll bring to the court in the upcoming season. With her addition to our team, expectations are high and I have no doubt she’ll help us achieve great success.

What are her strengths as a player?

On the court, Watson shines as a shooting guard who is not only deadly from beyond the arc but also possesses the ability to attack the basket. Her exceptional ball handling allows her to break through defenders, and she's known for her unique one-handed mid range shot. Watson's versatility and scoring prowess make her a valuable addition to the team's roster.

How will she contribute to the Ohio State women's basketball team?

So, how will Watson contribute to the Ohio State women's basketball team? Well, her four-star rating speaks volumes about her exceptional skills and athleticism. Her commitment to the program is a significant win and will undoubtedly bolster the team's success in the seasons to come. Marc Votteler's career history.

It appears that Ohio State has hired Marc Votteler as its new director of player personnel, following the departure of Zach Grant in December. Votteler has previously worked as the general manager at Marshall, and his experience in football programs, particularly in the areas of player personnel and video, may have contributed to his hiring for this new role at Ohio State. It will be interesting to see how he contributes to the Buckeyes' football program in the future.

Votteler has held various roles related to football programs, particularly in the areas of player personnel and video. His most recent role was as the Marshall GM for just over a year, from January 2022 to the present. Prior to that, he worked at several different universities, including Alabama, the University of Central Florida, and Tennessee. It's possible that his diverse experience in football programs has contributed to his expertise in the field.

Votteler will be working closely with Mark Pantoni and likely playing a key role in the management and recruitment of Ohio State's football team. As the director of player personnel, Votteler will be responsible for identifying and evaluating potential recruits, managing the team's scholarship offers and roster, and coordinating with coaches and other staff members to ensure that the team is prepared for its games and competitions.

Pantoni will continue to be in charge of the recruiting wing, with Marc Votteler working under him in the role of director of player personnel. Erin Dunston will be responsible for managing on-campus recruiting visits as the on-campus recruiting director, and Billy Homer will oversee the transfer portal. Together, these individuals will play important roles in shaping Ohio State's recruiting strategy and identifying the most promising recruits to join the Buckeyes' football program. By working together effectively, this team will help ensure that Ohio State is able to attract and retain top talent, and maintain its status as a leading college football program.

OSU Commits Could Come From All-American Game

Some of the best high school prospects in the country are going to play in the Under Armour All-American Game 2018, and many of these will make their college commitments during the televised game. Experts believe that OSU might get a few fresh athletes out of this event.

A few highly regarded recruits are on the Buckeyes' radar. Four-star DE Tyreke Smith is a prospect from Cleveland Heights that might sign with OSU in order to attend college in the state. Smith was already promoting his commitment time on Twitter. He's the fourth-ranked weak-side end in his class and is the third-ranked prospect in the state of Ohio. Unfortunately for Urban Meyer, Smith might instead elect to attend Penn State in spite of the high hopes that he'll come to OSU.

Meyer had already been able to convince a three-star defensive end, Alex Williams, to come to OSU instead of WVU, so he might be able to work his magic again. Smith isn't the only prospect under consideration, however.

Jayson Oweh, a four-state strong-side DE out of New Jersey, is also the third-ranked prospect in his state. He's considered the fifth strong-side DE in the entire recruiting class. Penn State has tried to recruit him just like they did with Smith. In fact, experts from 247sports feel that he will more than likely head to PSU. Nevertheless, Meyer's ability to lure Smith over has made many at OSU hopeful that he can also encourage Oweh to join the Buckeyes organization. Oweh will more than likely announce his commitment shortly after the clock strikes six.

Antjuan Simmons Commits To Ohio State

Antjuan Simmons is going to be a Ohio State Buckeye. (Ad: H&R Block Tax Filing Discounts at http://2015Taxes.org)

Although his high school is extremely close to Michigan Stadium in Ann arbor, this 3-star LB has committed to play football with the Buckeyes. Apparently, Simmons isn't worried about traveling the longer distance to Ohio.  He also wasn't influenced by the fact that he attends the  same high school that Michigan's coach attended.

Antjuan Simmons announced his decision to attend Ohio State University via his Twitter account.  He thanked all of the other schools that made offers, but he choose Ohio State University.

Antjuan Simmons received 40 scholarship offers per 247Sports, and this includes offers from colleges in close proximity such as Michigan State and Michigan.  He also has received offers from Penn State, Tennessee, Notre Dame, Texas A&M, Oregon and UCLA.  This is a long list of prestigious colleges that are known for their prized football programs.

He is rated the 27th best high school linebacker in the nation and the 11th best player in Michigan per 247Sports.  These stats probably won't stay the same because of the numerous offers he has received.  Unfortunately, this tends to change the way players are rated by recruitment websites.

Antjuan Simmons is the 12th high school football player to commit to the Ohio State Buckeyes from the class of 2017.  This list includes two 5-star recruits, and it has a ranking of number one per 247Sports.

However, Antjuan Simmons is the first linebacker from the 2017 class that has made a commitment to the Ohio State University Buckeyes football team.  But the school is quickly recruiting plenty of talent from this 2017 class, which means there will be more recruits.

Running Back Todd Sibley Commits To The Buckeyes

Todd Sibley

The Ohio State Buckeyes are making strides both in play and recruiting. They have gained verbal commitments from several different prospects in the last few weeks and the latest addition is the running back, Todd Sibley.

Sibley is a four-star running back from Archbishop Hoban and has proudly made the news public with a tweet from his own Twitter account.

Todd Sibley joins four-star defensive back Malik Barrow, offensive lineman, Jack Wohlabaugh, cornerback Marcus Williamson, and Tuf Bordland, linebacker.

Ohio State is getting busy adding new players to the field and the latest recruit, Todd Sibley is just one more shining ray of continued hope for the success of the Ohio State Buckeyes. Standing at 5 feet and 11 inches tall, weighing in at 205 pounds, and possessing the talent and skills to be a popular choice, Todd Sibley has the ability to choose from multiple universities. Still, this junior year student who ranks at 16 as a running back for the class of 2017 and comes in at number 9 of the top players in the state of Ohio as reported by 247Sports, has committed to Ohio State.

This article is dedicated to understanding the single leg running vertical jump, and establishing a framework to help increase your ability."

Brutusreport Blogspot Sports Carnival - February 25, 2010

Welcome to the February 25, 2010 edition of Brutusreport Blogspot Sports Carnival. This time around we have some 15 or so really good articles and one very bad one. Steve Patterson starts us off with OSU Buckeyes in the NFL Combine which just opened up today. Tim Tebow won't throw so we can all breath easy. Steve also has a story on Adam Griffin the son of Buckeye great Archie Griffin who was given a scholarship after the team missed out on 5 top 100 players at the end of the recruiting process. Josh tries to convince us that Lane Kiffin will not fail although that is all he has ever done. And finally Neven Szary believes in Team Canada even after the US socked them in the groin in front of a packed home ice. That ends my sarcastic take on this weeks articles. Come back next time when I will be serious about sports and the writers that write about them. Bookmark and Share if you have nothing else to do with the rest of the night.

Lisa Taylor presents 10 Youngest College Graduates in U.S. History (and Where They Are Today) posted at Online Degree.

Baseball

Eric Gargiulo presents Will Work For Food And Millions! Baseballs Remaining Free Agents posted at CamelClutchBlog.com, saying, "RF Jermaine Dye: 2009, White Sox, .251 average, 27 home runs, 81 R.B.I. 36 years old Dye showed he still has some pop left in his bat, and can prove to be a good bat off the bench or play in a platoon situation. However, he still is seeking big money and a chance to play every day. At 36 his fielding skills are diminished, and he lacks speed. Still the best of the available free agents as far as power. A team in need of a DH could tap Dye by the end of spring."

Basketball

Eric Gargiulo presents College Basketball Betting ? Calipari, Pearl renew hostilities in Lexington posted at CamelClutchBlog.com, saying, "Anyone who follows sportsbook odds (betphoenix reviews) has had this Saturday circled on the calendar for a long time. Eric Gargiulo presents Inside The Wheelhouse: Are we writing off Peyton Manning? posted at CamelClutchBlog.com, saying, "Moments after the Super Bowl, I tuned into the great four letter network located in Connecticut. The network had a good NFL analyst on who at one time (I can’t believe I’m going to write this) lead his team to a Super Bowl Championship. His name is Trent Dilfer. The story he brought up that the media would run with the next day on the Indianapolis Colts is something weeks prior we would never even consider. He asked: “Could Peyton Manning win the big one again?”"

Hockey

Eric Gargiulo presents USA Men?s Hockey Over Comes Late Run posted at CamelClutchBlog.com, saying, "USA defeated Switzerland in the first game of the Olympics for both Men’s teams by a score of 3-1. Switzerland came out hitting fast and furious in the beginning of the game, which to an extent really slowed down the speedy Team USA. USA had no answer for the onslaught of hard hits by Switzerland, but would slowly turn it around by the middle stages of the first period. With just over a minute remaining in the first period, Bobby Ryan scored on Anaheim teammate Jonas Hiller. David Backes would later score a beautiful goal in the 2nd period, followed by Ryan Malone. Team USA showed up in the 2nd period, but the 3rd period was another story once again."
