Welcome to the April 30, 2009 edition of brutusreport blogspot sports carnival. This edition is a little short as I wasn't sure blogspot would let me post as the site was marked as being spam early in the week. But there's a nice article on MMA's Royce Gracie, the Phillies, and the Angels in MLB, the Duke Blue Devils, Goji Berries and how you need them in your diet, plus hockey news on the Hurricanes.

Colin Timberlake presents Royce Gracie: MMA’s Pioneering Hero or Villain? posted at, saying, "A look at the beginning of the UFC and the man it was based on. How much is legend? How much is fact?"

Chuck Hanf presents "State of the Empire" - Orble posted at Two Cents From Beantown, saying, "really was just submitting my "state of the empire" post.. Thank you and I hope it does well."

Steven Gomez presents The Los Angeles Injuries of Anaheim posted at Dead Cat's Bounce, saying, "The Angels aren't exactly assured of an AL West title this year, even if they get John Lackey and Ervin Santana back at full strength."

GrrlScientist presents Selenium Overdose Caused Deaths of Polo Horses posted at Living the Scientific Life, saying, "The mysterious deaths of twenty-one Venezuelan polo horses was apparently due to a mistake by the pharmacy that incorrectly prepared the vitamin-and-electrolyte cocktail that was injected into these horses prior to their match on Sunday. A chemist at Franck's Pharmacy in Ocala, Florida added ten times the requested dosage of selenium to the cocktail. It appears this was an error and not the result of foul play."

FitBuff presents Goji Berries Benefits - Top 3 Reasons YOU Need Them posted at's Total Mind and Body Fitness Blog, saying, "I know, you're probably tired of hearing about them by now, but just in case you haven't broken down and tried this superfood yet, here are the top 3 reasons you need to start eating goji berries right now...
