BrutusReport Blogspot Sports Carnival - July 30, 2009

Welcome to the July 30, 2009 edition of BrutusReport Blogspot Sports Carnival. Mark Terrell has some nice articles about getting traffic to you blog and building an email list in the non-categorized section of the Carnival today. Eric is beginning the Brett Favre watch cause we all want to see great players come back and not play well when they get too old. :) And Steve has a good one about the Buckeyes being picked to win the Big Ten again. Of course the Big Ten has struggled lately in bowl games so the real challenge for OSU is to win a big one at the end of the year.

Basketball

Eric Gargiulo presents Shaquille O?Neal Slam Dunks WWE RAW posted at CamelClutchBlog.com, saying, "NBA All-Star Shaquille O'Neal was last night's WWE RAW Guest Host. Shaq ran the entire show last night and was a WWE natural from the second he entered the ring. There is no doubt by the end of the show that Vince McMahon is already negotiating Shaq's first official WWE match."

Football

Eric Gargiulo presents The Brett Favre Watch Begins posted at CamelClutchBlog.com, saying, "The Brett Favre Watch has officially begun. I don't think anyone is accepting his retirement at face value. As a matter of a fact, I would be surprised if he wasn't drafted in fantasy football drafts. In no way do I think his career is over and neither should you."

Steve Patterson presents The Dolphins will be a better team with a worse record. posted at FryingPan Sports, saying, "The Miami Dolphins look to perform better against a difficult schedule."

Steve Patterson presents Buckeyes Picked to Win Big Ten posted at BrutusReport, saying, "The media still loves the Buckeyes for the Big Ten title. This could be Jim Tressel's 4th consecutive Big Ten tittle if his 2009 squad can dominate the league once again."

Steve Patterson presents Gator commitment changing schools posted at eScoutRoom, saying, "Opps he did it again. Victor Hampton runs into trouble with the authorities. The Florida commitment for 2010 has now been kicked off his high school team and is transferring."

Steve Patterson presents OT Eddie Turner Moves the Pile posted at eFilmRoom, saying, "If Eddie Turner gets a scholarship offer from a college program he should be able to fill a need at left tackle or right tackle that many schools have."

Other

Eric Gargiulo presents Brock Lesnar’s UFC Future posted at CamelClutchBlog.com, saying, "They say timing is everything, and that is certainly true for Brock Lesnar. Four fights in, and Lesnar is an unequivocal success in UFC. The downside of his success is that he is too good at the wrong time in UFC."

Eric Gargiulo presents BMX = 15 X-citing Years of X Games posted at CamelClutchBlog.com, saying, "Summer is in full effect. Quick what's the first thing you think of? Is it the smell of the freshly cut grass on the 20 baseball diamonds across the country. Could it be the vacation that you can’t wait to ditch your cubicle for? All of those things are awesome but to this guy right here, summer means one thing: The X Games."

Eric Gargiulo presents Video Game Slugfest: UFC Undisputed vs. Fight Night 4 posted at CamelClutchBlog.com, saying, "I think the comparisons between the UFC Undisputed and Fight Night 4 games are warranted. Both are action-packed, combat sport videos games featuring real athletes. As It is a close fight but only one can be the king of the console."
