Brutusreport Blogspot Sports Carnival - February 25, 2010

Welcome to the February 25, 2010 edition of Brutusreport Blogspot Sports Carnival. This time around we have some 15 or so really good articles and one very bad one. Steve Patterson starts us off with OSU Buckeyes in the NFL Combine which just opened up today. Tim Tebow won't throw so we can all breath easy. Steve also has a story on Adam Griffin the son of Buckeye great Archie Griffin who was given a scholarship after the team missed out on 5 top 100 players at the end of the recruiting process. Josh tries to convince us that Lane Kiffin will not fail although that is all he has ever done. And finally Neven Szary believes in Team Canada even after the US socked them in the groin in front of a packed home ice. That ends my sarcastic take on this weeks articles. Come back next time when I will be serious about sports and the writers that write about them. Bookmark and Share if you have nothing else to do with the rest of the night.

Baseball

Eric Gargiulo presents Will Work For Food And Millions! Baseballs Remaining Free Agents posted at CamelClutchBlog.com, saying, "RF Jermaine Dye: 2009, White Sox, .251 average, 27 home runs, 81 R.B.I. 36 years old Dye showed he still has some pop left in his bat, and can prove to be a good bat off the bench or play in a platoon situation. However, he still is seeking big money and a chance to play every day. At 36 his fielding skills are diminished, and he lacks speed. Still the best of the available free agents as far as power. A team in need of a DH could tap Dye by the end of spring."

Basketball

Eric Gargiulo presents College Basketball Betting ? Calipari, Pearl renew hostilities in Lexington posted at CamelClutchBlog.com, saying, "Anyone who follows sportsbook odds (betphoenix reviews) has had this Saturday circled on the calendar for a long time. Eric Gargiulo presents Inside The Wheelhouse: Are we writing off Peyton Manning? posted at CamelClutchBlog.com, saying, "Moments after the Super Bowl, I tuned into the great four letter network located in Connecticut. The network had a good NFL analyst on who at one time (I can’t believe I’m going to write this) lead his team to a Super Bowl Championship. His name is Trent Dilfer. The story he brought up that the media would run with the next day on the Indianapolis Colts is something weeks prior we would never even consider. He asked: “Could Peyton Manning win the big one again?”"

Hockey

Eric Gargiulo presents USA Men?s Hockey Over Comes Late Run posted at CamelClutchBlog.com, saying, "USA defeated Switzerland in the first game of the Olympics for both Men’s teams by a score of 3-1. Switzerland came out hitting fast and furious in the beginning of the game, which to an extent really slowed down the speedy Team USA. USA had no answer for the onslaught of hard hits by Switzerland, but would slowly turn it around by the middle stages of the first period. With just over a minute remaining in the first period, Bobby Ryan scored on Anaheim teammate Jonas Hiller. David Backes would later score a beautiful goal in the 2nd period, followed by Ryan Malone. Team USA showed up in the 2nd period, but the 3rd period was another story once again."
