IMG 2022 product Jayden Fielding committed to Ohio State as a preferred walk on today.
According to GridironNow.com, Jayden Fielding has given a verbal commitment to Ohio State as a preferred walk on. The IMG Academy kicker just visited Columbus this past weekend and liked it so much that he committed on Sunday. He is 6'0" and 145 lbs.
Jayden Fielding’s hard work and dedication has paid off. The IMG Academy (Fla.) graduating senior announced his commitment to the University of Ohio State as a preferred walk on. He posted the following on his twitter page today: "Blessed and honored to say I am committed to The Ohio State University. Go Bucks!"
He did receive a scholarship offer from Florida State and Cincinnati, but accepted the rare invitation to join the Ohio State program as a Preferred Walk-On. Texas State offered him a additional scholarship on December 5th, but it was not enough for him to turn away from the top talent of Ohio State. He could quickly earn a scholarship as soon as the Buckeyes need him to be their full-time extra-point kicker.
Defensive lineman Caden Curry is one of the top 2022 Defensive Line prospects coming out of Center Grove High School in Greenwood Indiana. Caden stands at 6'4" and weighs in at 250 pounds this season. He has a great physical build and really uses his size to his advantage, making him very hard to block from the offensive line.
Curry, a Defensive Lineman out of Center Grove High School in Greenwood, Indiana is one of the top prospects for the class of 2022. He will be enrolling into school as a Freshman to play Football at Ohio State. This lineman has been playing football since he was seven years old. Starting on his Middle School Defensive line Caden has played both Tackle and End but predominantly plays Defensive Tackle.
Caden is an extremely hard worker off field doing everything he can to become a better player and person. He even spends his time doing something that helps him with both traits… working out. "I work out three times a week for about two hours each day," said Curry. "We work on strength and conditioning, and then we go over technique on film."
While preparing for college football, the graduating senior spends most of his time in the weight room getting stronger and faster so that he may be ready when he makes it to Ohio State next year. Curry's height, weight and strength are all attributes that he uses to his advantage while playing high school football. He has the frame to put on 30 plus pounds of muscle too.
Curry's top of the line athleticism and quickness allows him to throw offensive lineman off balance in an instant. Once Caden gets through the offensive lineman he looks to get after his quarterback or make a play behind the line of scrimmage. He's comfortable playing both with his hands up or with his hands in the dirt. Curry is a strong player that finishes off his opponent on nearly every play. He's a heavy hitter who can take over games when he plays with intensity.
In the 2022 season Caden had 53 tackles,13 Tackles for Loss and 5 Sacks in 10 Games. He has stated that his goal for this upcoming season is to be known as one of the most ferocious defensive players in the Midwest.
Joshua Padilla has offers from Ohio State Buckeyes, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, Indiana Hoosiers, Michigan Wolverines, Oklahoma Sooners, Penn State Nittany Lions, Tennessee Volunteers, and Virginia Cavaliers. The 6-foot-4, 270-pounder has been high on OSU for quite some time, and had attended the Bucks' Junior Day in February. "I've always liked Ohio State," Padilla said. "It's a great tradition there."
Statistics
Joshua Padilla has recorded 25 tackles, 5 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 4 QB hurries, 1 fumble recovery, 3 forced fumbles, 36 tackles for loss.
Joshua Padilla Visits
Josh left the state of Ohio Saturday, June 19th 2021, at 8:45 am for his unofficial visit to Penn State. The Buckeyes have offered and are also recruiting him hard. Penn State has offered and he has said he wants to take an unofficial visit to Penn State this weekend before he goes to Miami Florida on June 24th.
Bill Kurelic's Prediction
"We think that (Joshua Padilla) will be playing for the Buckeyes," BSB's Bill Kurelic told 247Sports. "(Padilla) really fits what Ohio State is trying to do on the offensive line. He's very athletic and explosive. He's got a nasty edge about him."
With offers from schools such as Michigan and Illinois, and interest from schools such as Wisconsin and Notre Dame, it seems like Padilla has plenty of options to choose from at this point in time. But he had a pretty simple answer when asked what his top schools were right now. "Ohio State and Michigan," Padilla said. "Those are my top two schools.
He went on to say, "I appreciate having an in-state school in the Big 10." "I'm very set on Ohio State now."
What Ohio State gets in Padilla
Padilla stands out for his technique, toughness, and general desire. He's a little undersized right now, but that will improve as he works his way through Ohio State's strength and conditioning department.
Padilla has started at right tackle for Wayne High School since he was a freshman, but he will play inside at the next level. He is rated the No. 9 offensive guard and No. 51 overall player in the state according to 247Sports.com.
Joshua Padilla has always been a physical presence on the football field, but his size and strength have always been a question mark. That was until the two-way lineman from Wayne, Ohio answered those questions at Ohio State's one-day camp earlier this year.
"You could tell he was a better player and a better guy after it." Wayne coach Benji Madden said. "You could tell he walked away from there as a better person and a better player."
"That's going to show up once I get on campus," Padilla said. "I want to work hard and earn a spot on the team." Padilla will close out his high school career with a lot more attention on him as a Division I recruit.
Sonny Styles from Pickerington Central Ohio recently committed to play Safety at Ohio State in 2023. The standout will stay in state after some felt he might be leaving to play elsewhere. The Buckeyes landed a great player who should get on the field early and become an important part of their defensive backfield in the future.

Tom Loy Getting it Wrong
Here’s what Rivals’ Tom Loy had to say about Sonny Styles before he’d even played a down of high school football: Have
heard rumblings for a while now that Sonny Styles will indeed be a
Notre Dame guy in the end. I know he grew up a huge ND fan and loves the
place so if that is his decision it would not be a huge shock at all. I
have been told there have been recent talks between the two parties but
nothing solid yet. He does want to hear from them one more time before
he makes his decision. I think Ohio State is in great shape here
obviously, but I am not ready to eliminate Notre Dame quite yet.
Mitch Rossi's Touchdown Reception Is The Fruition Of Years Of Effort
Mitch Rossi, a fifth-year senior tight end for Ohio State, grabbed his first career touchdown pass in Saturday's 52-13 victory over Rutgers.
And, while it was only one of many Buckeyes goals on the day, it meant a lot to Rossi and his family.
From Walk-on to End Zone Pass Catch
Rossi walked on to the program in 2017 and spent years in a limited role on offense and special teams. He was offered a scholarship before the 2021 season began, and he was given even more after the play in the end zone was called for him.
In four years with Ohio State, he has recorded 12 receptions for 146 yards and has scored one touchdown.
Mitch Rossi: The Undying Record Of Big Ten Pass Catchers
It was a moment that was coming. And one that, for Rossi, meant a lot.“I’ve been dreaming of this since I was five years old,” he said. “I had no clue that it was going to happen today, but I’ve been working for this moment for a long time. My family has been working for this moment for a long time.
When he was a kid, Mitch Rossi’s father, Tom, began taking him to football practice. There, he would catch tennis balls tossed by his father. His parents are from the Tiffin Ohio area and he grew up a fan of the football program. When his teammate Max Wray received a scholarship to the school, he tagged along.
“When I get emotional, I get to get emotional. I get emotional when I get emotional. That’s me.
